The Legacy of the Name: The Glory of God as a Mirror of Eternity

Christian leadership, at its purest core, is not about making a name for ourselves in history, but about allowing the NAME—the only One who is Holy, Sovereign, and Wise—to be seen through the lives of those who serve. True legacy is not a monument to ego, but a trail of faithfulness that points to eternity.

1. The Genealogy of Faithfulness: The Foundation of Mentoring

A solid mentoring relationship is built on the passing on of life and the integrity of the Word, as seen in the journey that gave rise to the heart of Lead by the Name:

The Foundation (Karl Lachler): An uncompromising commitment to the Word and persevering prayer. Lachler did more than teach technique; he modeled leadership marked by servanthood, humility, and dependence.

The Passing On (Antonio Mendes): Through weekly walks and biblical reflection, mentoring became a shared life process. He learned that leading is an act of surrender, where the Word serves as the purifying agent of character.

The Continuity (Eduardo Mendes): The understanding that leadership must be lived by and in Christ, resulting in the founding of Lead by the Name to equip leaders who want to lead from spiritual depth rather than burnout, as an act of contemplation, through the mirror of eternity, the Word.

2. The Mirror of Eternity: Principles of a Solid Mentoring Relationship

Effective mentoring uses the Word as the Mirror of Eternity, guiding the leader through four essential movements based on Psalm 119.

I. Holiness: The Meaning of Happiness (vv. 1-8)

Unlike the world, where happiness means autonomy and the absence of boundaries, in Relational Mentoring happiness is integrity. The mentor helps the leader align his "avatar" (the image he tries to project) with the holiness of God. Holiness gives meaning to the human search for purpose.

II. Purification: The Honesty of the Mirror (vv. 9-16)
