What We Believe

Our Core Beliefs

We believe the following is true, which serves as the foundation of our mission — every belief is grounded in Scripture and shapes the way we develop Christ-centered leaders for the Kingdom of God.

God created all things out of nothing, before time existed. He created them for His glory and pleasure, and in His creation He revealed His character, His power, and His purposes for humanity. The Triune God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — is eternal and existed before all creation, as the only foundation of all reality.

God created Adam and Eve in His image to know Him, love Him, and glorify Him. In the garden, they disobeyed God by choosing to follow their own ways — what the Bible calls sin. As a result, all humanity was born in rebellion and is spiritually dead to God. We are unable to save ourselves, because sin has separated us from God and corrupted our ability to seek Him on our own.

Gen. 1:26-28 Isa. 43:7

God the Father freely chose to send His only Son to restore what was lost in the Fall. Jesus came into the world as God incarnate — fully human and fully divine — lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a substitute for our sins, and rose from the dead on the third day. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus opened the only way to reconciliation with God. There is no other way to come to the Father.

John 1:18 John 3:16

In His grace, God declares righteous everyone who, in repentance, trusts in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. We are not justified by works or merit, but through faith, resting solely on the perfect life, the substitutionary death and the resurrection of Christ, who bore our sins upon Himself. In Christ, guilt is removed, we receive forgiveness and peace with God, and there is nothing to add to what God has already done — no human effort can take the place of that work.

The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin and gives us new life. He dwells in every believer at the moment of salvation, sealing us for the day of redemption and empowering us to live in a way that pleases God. The Spirit is our Comforter, Guide, and Intercessor—continually transforming us into the image of Christ and producing in us the fruit of a godly character.

Zech. 12:10 John 16:7-11

God’s desire and command is that we love Him with all our heart, soul, and mind—and love our neighbor as ourselves. This love is not a passing feeling, but an active commitment shown in obedience, service, and sacrifice. All Christ-centered leadership flourishes from this foundation of love for God and people.

John 14:21 Matt. 22:37-40

God the Father has spoken to us by inspiring men to write exactly what He wanted us to know. The Bible is the Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit—infallible in all it affirms, completely trustworthy, and sufficient to guide our faith and practice. It is the supreme authority for life, ministry, leadership, and decision-making. All of LBTN is built on the foundation of Scripture.

2 Pet. 1:20-21 Acts 1:16

Jesus Christ intercedes for us today, seated at the right hand of the Father. He is our Advocate with the Father when we sin, and the Spirit intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. No accusation can prevail against those who are in Christ—for the One who justified them also sustains them. In this truth lies the security and confidence of every Christ-centered leader.

1 John 2:1 Rom. 8:33-34

My work, my ministry, and my leadership are a living sacrifice to God—not a performance for people. We are called not to conform to the patterns of this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, so that we may discern God’s good, pleasing, and perfect will. It is God who works in us both to will and to act according to His good purpose. Every leadership that honors Christ begins with this radical surrender.

The Heart of Faith

Defining the Gospel

The Gospel is not just the entry point to the Christian life—it is the ongoing foundation of all Christ-centered leadership, ministry, and transformation.

The word "Gospel" means Good News. But for the good news to make sense, we first need to understand the bad news—and then behold what God has done to change it forever.

The Problem: Separated from God

All human beings were born in rebellion against God—that is what we call sin. Sin is not just a set of wrong actions; it is a state of deep alienation. By our own efforts, we are unable to restore our relationship with a holy and perfect God. The consequences of sin are spiritual death, separation from God, and eternal judgment.

The Solution: What God Did

In love, God sent His Son Jesus Christ into the world. Jesus lived the perfect life we could not live, and died the death we deserved to die—paying the penalty for our sin in our place. On the third day, He rose from the dead, demonstrating His victory over sin, death, and judgment. Through Jesus, the way back to the Father is open.

The Gospel in Four Movements

God: God is the Creator of all things, holy, just, and full of love. He created human beings for intimate relationship with Himself and to live for His glory.

Man: All humanity has rebelled against God—choosing to follow its own way instead of God’s way. That sin has separated us from Him and made us subject to His righteous judgment. No human effort is enough to restore that relationship.

Christ: Jesus Christ — fully God and fully human — entered history to do what we could not do for ourselves. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross as our substitute, bearing our guilt and condemnation, and rose bodily on the third day, defeating death. His resurrection is the confirmation that His work was accepted by the Father.

Answer: The Gospel calls for a response. God calls every person to repent — to turn from sin — and to trust in Jesus as the only Savior and Lord. Whoever believes receives forgiveness, reconciliation with God, and the gift of the Holy Spirit — who continually transforms the believer's life into the likeness of Christ.

Why It Matters for Leadership

At Lead by the Name, we believe that genuine Christ-centered leadership is only possible out of a personal experience of the Gospel. We don't lead from external moral principles or a drive for performance — we lead from a place of inner transformation, motivated by the love of Christ and sustained by the power of the Holy Spirit. The Gospel is not just the starting point; it is the ongoing source of every faithful, humble, and sustainable form of leadership.
