Lead by the Name began in Atibaia, Brazil, in 1980, in the mentoring between Pastor Karl Lachler and Pastor Antonio Mendes. The organization itself was only founded four decades later, in 2021. The conviction at both ends is the same. Leadership is lived out through Christ, and it is learned from someone.

Leadership That Grows Out of Relationship
Leadership is learned from someone, not in a classroom. That is why every mentee has a mentor of their own, who meets them every two weeks.
Officially founded in 2021, Lead by the Name stands on a legacy of more than three decades of faithful mentoring, begun in Atibaia in 1980 between Pastor Karl Lachler and Pastor Antonio Mendes. Since then, we have walked alongside leaders carrying calls greater than their current capacity. We didn’t see that as a deficit; we saw it as an opportunity for mentoring.

Our approach articulates three layers. The first is the ELLF Journey, the method within the relationship; the THRIV Framework, the structure that organizes the path; and the MENTORS competencies, the profile of the one who mentors. Most mentoring models cover a single layer; we articulate all three, because mentoring falls ill precisely when method, structure, or character is missing.

From Relationship to Legacy.
In the LBTN model each stage gives rise to the next, and the last returns to the first, because the story of the one who went through becomes material for the one arriving.
The LBTN ecosystem is a cycle. It begins in Relational Environment, where trust and connections are built through mentoring. That bond creates safe space for Learning and Development, which equips the leader with strategic competence. Training then finds real ground in Project Implementation, generating concrete results. Those results are translated into Leadership and Legacy, and every story of impact returns to the ecosystem as a new "case," feeding the cycle and inspiring the next generation of leaders.
