Two men walking the streets of Atibaia, week after week, talking about Scripture. It was 1980. The American missionary Karl Lachler and the young pastor Antonio Mendes never sat in a classroom together, and those walks shaped more than any course would have. Lead by the Name was born from that, four decades later. The conviction has not changed. Leadership is lived out through Christ, and it is learned from someone.

Leadership That Grows Out of Relationship
Leadership is learned from someone. That is why you do not enroll in a course here. You get a mentor, and he meets you every two weeks.
Officially founded in 2021, Lead by the Name stands on a legacy of more than three decades of faithful mentoring, begun in Atibaia in 1980 between Pastor Karl Lachler and Pastor Antonio Mendes. Since then, we have walked alongside leaders carrying calls greater than their current capacity. We didn’t see that as a deficit; we saw it as an opportunity for mentoring.

Mentoring without method turns into a pleasant conversation that changes nothing. Ours has three layers. The ELLF Journey is the method within the relationship. The THRIV Framework is the structure that organizes the path. The MENTORS competencies say who may mentor. Most models cover a single layer, and that is why so much mentoring falls ill.

From Relationship to Legacy.
In the LBTN model each stage gives rise to the next, and the last returns to the first, because the story of the one who went through becomes material for the one arriving.
The LBTN ecosystem is a cycle. It begins in Relational Environment, where trust and connections are built through mentoring. That bond creates safe space for Learning and Development, which equips the leader with strategic competence. Training then finds real ground in Project Implementation, which produces concrete results. Those results are translated into Leadership and Legacy, and every story of impact returns to the ecosystem as a new "case," feeding the cycle and inspiring the next generation of leaders.
